Digitalisation strategy developed by Szkoła Podstawowa w Jankowie Przygodzkim
Our school decided to create the strategy to follow national digitalization strategy. After many meetings with our staff, students, parents and representatives of NGO working on educational field we defined our present situation and needs for future. To follow our students needs we need to put big effort in this strategy implementation, that why we need to share and improve our knowledge in the use of ICT in classes and enhance our competences in the field of digitization in the educational environment through a strategic and complete approach, not limited to the introduction of singular tools and educational methodologies.
Our aim is to make information technology tools more useful in our classrooms. Our intention is also change lessons for more interesting and students engaging what should raise students’ achievement.
For this reason we want to propose to our students modern tools, which they use in private lives for communication, playing, sharing information ect. It increase their active involvement We also plan to improve teachers skills in this area and collect necessary equipment.
We need to focus on real needs of our students.
We plan to cooperate our local government with is leading body for local schools.
We have already collected computer equipment and provided training courses for our staff, where they leant how to use this equipment at the classroom. At present each class is equipped with smart boards with internet connection, we have tablets and laptops at classrooms. We already have ICT class, ICT coordinator, two hours of ICT lessons per week.
Our students and the teachers are the main stakeholders of the strategy. Only with their participation and engagement our strategy can by rightly implemented. We need is to encourage both groups for using ICT at lessons. We need to increase use ICT tools at classes. Necessary step in this direction is to improve teachers skills in this area. We expecting that those new teaching techniques helps students in their learning process what give better marks. In this process very important is parents acceptance and support. We want to encourage all teachers to use ICT in the classroom to bring learning to life for students; to give learners the tools to collaborate and to examine engaging problems;to researchand analyse information; and to use ICT resources to communicate their ideas and to share what they create with others beyond the walls of their classroom or school. We recognise that for this to happen school management body must show leadership and provide the necessary supports to school and teachers. The Strategy articulates that all stakeholders need to take responsibility for embedding ICT into their existing practices.
In order to determine the competences of our teachers in the field of ICT. We carried out a questionnaire in order to enable students to learn about their competences
teachers in the use of modern technologies
information and communication in education and their self-assessment in this area. The vast majority of respondents evaluate their skills very well
use of technologies such as the internet, e-mail,
instant chat and instant messengers, discussion forum or blog. Tested teachers
declare that they are able to use word processors, spreadsheets
and multimedia presentations. Nevertheless, almost 80%
the respondents declare weak or lack of skills in the field of use
programs to create podcasts, and almost 40% indicated weak
or lack of the ability to use e-book readers / tablets. It is also surprising that only less than half of the respondents declare good or advanced skills in using the blog in their education, while 97% of respondents declared their knowledge of this concept, and only ⅓ of respondents declare that they lack or have little or no skills to use the tool. Despite the fact that it is a well-known and relatively easy-to-use tool, it does not find many supporters of using it in the didactic process. Most of the respondents use the Internet every day or almost every day to prepare for didactic classes (53.9%). 26.3% use the Internet every 2-3 days, 13% once a week, 6.5% less often than once a week. It is worth emphasizing that only one respondent (0.3%) declared that he does not use the Internet at all. The tools most often used in didactics by the surveyed teachers are multimedia presentations (96.7%), websites (93.7%), videos (78.7%), e-mail (72%) and educational programs computer (61.3%). The study confirmed the common feeling of the relationship between the level of ability to use selected ICTs and their use in teaching. People declaring good and advanced skills in using e-learning platforms much more often use them in didactics than people declaring moderate, weak or lacking skills.
To implement our strategy we need make strong cooperation between teachers, students, parents, leading body, and local organisations.
All those bodies recognises the potential of ICT to transform teaching, learning and assessment practices in our school and will continue to provide leadership across the education system. Our leading body will play an enabler role in leading and facilitating our school and teachers to adopt new pedagogies so we can better engage our students in using ICT to create a quality learning environment in a coherent way. We want to engage our students and parents into impementation of our strategy thanks for this it can be more inetresting and more suitable for students and teachers.
The strategy will bring significant changes to areas such as teachers’ professional development, the way in which the curriculum in our school is delivered, the way ICT is used for assessment, and how our school communicate with parents. Thanks to improvement of teachers’ competencies and increase in the use of using ICT in educational process our strategy affect the students in very possitive way. The parents will also be affected positively when they see the contribution of the ICT to their children.

The overall impact of our strategy is very positive. Strategy implementation show us how to work with ICT at classroom. We realised the potential of ICT to transform the learning experience s of students by helping them become engaged, creative and critical thinkers, global citizens, and active and self-determined resilient learners in collaborative social-learning environments.
We had some problems with parent’s engagement but finally they become very active and supportive.
